Ranking of America Graduate Schools is always one of the reasons, which Taiwan students concern about when they choose a school. However, how do they make the result of ranking? Is it fair? Let us give you a brief introduction.
Generally, Reports of Ranking of America Graduate Schools are made from several different ranking institutes, such as U.S. News & World Report, and Gourman Report¡K etc. Although these ranking surveys are made from non-official private institute, but they spend a lot of resources to do research, and their assessment are objective, so that these reports are quite persuasive worldwide, U.S. News & World Report in these private institutes is especially the most famous and popular one to Taiwan's Student.
The standards of assessment for ranking of America Graduate Schools:

15%~25% of Inviting the principles and professors in related subjects to assess the school. |

15&~25% of inviting the enterprises which is not in academia and employ societal freshmen to assess the school. |

Assessing by the quality of enrollees, take their scores of entrance test (GRE, GMAT, SAT and GPA¡K etc.) as an index of assessment. |

Assessing by the teaching resource and teaching quality which school provides to students, such as budget of teaching, budget of researching and the rate of teachers and students¡K etc. |
In other words, the most important things of assessing standards are teachers and resources provided by schools, and the requirement of students' quality, these are important to schools and they take the ranking seriously. Those standards we mentioned about, No. 3 and No. 4 are the only two things which schools can control, these two standards are not only can affect the ranking of a school, but also is the major standard when students choose schools, so that each school has it's own standard of entrance to applicants' test scores (GRE, GMAT, SAT and GPA), and it also permit the student which get great score in a test to have priority to enter into school to rise it's own average, so that they can have good ranking.
Besides, some students asked if there is any difference that different campus of a high-ranking school. Although different campus are belong to one name and system, however, each campus operates independently, so that they specialize on different aspects as well, teachers affect students most, but Taiwan's students always don't concern about this and then choose wrong universities for themselves. AACSB in America, EQUIS in Europe and AMBA in England are three major accreditation institutes in the world which were accredited by Association to Advanced Collegiate to Business - AACSB, which was established 90 years in America, is a business college accreditation institute, AACSB is the head of three and it also has most members. AACSB has about a thousand member schools worldwide, however, there are only about five hundred schools got the certificates. According to the official statistics from International Advanced College , there are only not yet 10% of business colleges are capable to get the accreditations from this institute.
According to the ranking of the best business schools from the English version "Business Weekly" and "U.S. News & World Report", these top fifty great business schools were all accredited by AACSB. There are 42 business schools of the top fifty great business schools in Europe, Asia and America from Financial Times in England in 2006, are also accredited by AACSB, we can see how seriously those worldwide business schools are about the accreditation from AACSB, and how carefully they assess all the students who are going to study in their schools.
